Returned From the Crypt…Just in Time for Christmas

For those of you only interested in Foreign Friday, it’ll resume next week. Promise.

National Novel Writer’s Month has finally ended, and somewhere in the haze of writing and word counting was Thanksgiving, and the beginning of the holiday season. I don’t know about the rest of you, especially those who haven’t spent 30 days in serious literary abandon, but I feel like I’ve just slouched out of my crypt or nuclear bunker and discovered that the world has moved on without me.

I made my 50,000 word writing goal, and as a private celebration, am not going to look at the manuscript until after the new year. 2013 is soon enough to really delve into the plot holes, random paragraphs, character inconsistencies, and run on sentences that netted me a cool winner’s sticker. Will I stick with my own goal of not looking? Probably not, but right now it sounds great! I can tell you now that I learned a lot about myself (and not just as a writer) during NaNoWriMo. I will be sharing some of the interesting insights (of the writing part) I gleaned for the next few blogs.

In the meantime, I shall be enjoying the holidays!
